The contemporary-designed Nesco FD-75PR retains more of the vitamins and nutrients throughout the drying process with its opaque Vita-Save exterior designed for blocking harmful lights. Hundreds of excellent ratings came in for Nesco FD-75PR 700-Watt Food Dehydrator and the reviewers were impressed of how quickly and efficiently this unit works. The fan at the top eliminates the need to keep shuffling the trays to get everything evenly dried. The temperature settings are great since not every kind of food needs the same amount of heat. It even seems to dry food quicker than the times listed in the product manual and recipe book. The outside cleans up easily although the drying trays themselves require a little more effort.

A few reviewers complained that there’s no “auto off” feature in this dehydrator. It stays on as long as it’s plugged in, so users have to come back and check the food every hour or so to make sure everything’s going okay. Clean up of the five shelve grids takes 20 minutes even after soaking in hot soapy water for an hour and they still leave residue sections in the corners. A very stiff brush with parallel straight brush lines is needed to thoroughly clean it. The drying trays’ mesh design gives a lot of surface area for things to stick to so they just require a little more work.

Most of the users commented that the Nesco FD-75PR machine is very easy to use with no explanation necessary. It’s simple to use that a beginner in dying can effectively come up with good results and it works extremely well. We found it as a fairly large appliance and if your counter space is challenged, you won’t want to leave it out all the time. There’s an issue with cleanup of the trays, but we look at it as a minor inconvenience than a flaw. We appreciate that users don’t have to rotate trays as they would with other dehydrators.  For the price range that the Nesco FD-75PR is in, it’s the best buy.
